Junior / Intermediate Structural Engineer
Westshore Structural Engineering Ltd. (WSE) is a Structural Engineering firm with offices in Nanaimo and Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. We provide service to private and public sector clients on a wide variety of building and bridge projects throughout Western Canada. Westshore Structural Engineering Ltd. is a well- respected engineering firm that takes pride in quality service and efficient and cost effective structural solutions for our clients. We are growing rapidly and are currently seeking a full-time Junior / Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Nanaimo and/or Victoria team.

The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to Nanaimo or Victoria; this is not a remote position – this is a position requiring the employee to be in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide structural engineering on a wide variety of building and bridge projects in western Canada.
- Work with and oversee technicians and technologists in the preparation of structural documents.
- Coordination with the design team.
- Perform structural field reviews and attend site meetings during construction.
- Prepare structural specifications and technical reports.
- Operate within the Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP), mandated by EGBC.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science with focus on Structural Engineering.
- 5-10 years of structural engineering experience. (Intermediate Position)
- EIT – (Junior Position)
- P.Eng Designation through EGBC – out of province designation may be considered.
- Experience in design and field review services on concrete, steel, timber and masonry building projects.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software including: ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, S-Concrete, and recent versions of AutoCAD are considered an asset.
- Experience in bridge design utilizing CSA S6 and AASHTO will be considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to work in a team environment with initiative and attention to detail.
